A 29-year-old Huntsville man faces charges following a single-vehicle collision in a Tim Horton’s parking lot.
Friday at 7:45 pm OPP responded to the Tim Horton’s at the corner of Hanes Road and West Road.
Police report that a car travelling at a high rate of speed left Hanes Road and went into the parking lot where it collided with a Tim Horton’s drive-thru sign and hydro pole.
The driver left the scene on foot before police arrived.
He was eventually located and arrested on West Road and was then taken to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
The accused is charged with impaired driving, Over 80, dangerous operation of a vehicle, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, driving with cannabis readily available and being a Novice driver operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration above zero.
He has a May 5th court date scheduled in Huntsville.
