Muskoka residents have a new way to keep informed during emergencies.
It’s an app called ‘Voyent Alert!’ you can download that allows you to sign up for the hashtag #AlertMuskoka notifications.
Registration is free and anonymous.
You’ll also only be notified when it’s relevant to emergencies happening in your area.
The Muskoka Emergency Response Committee launched the localised tool this week.
“We know timely communication to the public is critical in emergency situations, and this new tool will help us quickly send important alerts and updates to our communities,” says Jeff McWilliam, Chief of Paramedic Services and Emergency Planning for the District of Muskoka and Chair of the MERC. “We encourage all residents and visitors to Muskoka to sign up to receive #AlertMuskoka notifications through their phones or by email.”
How You Can Register:
You won’t have to worry about usernames, passwords, or the protection of your personal data. No information volunteered or derived is shared or used for marketing or data harvesting purposes. The Voyent Alert! platform is designed to give you the power to choose which communications you want to receive, and you can opt-in or out at any time.
- Mobile App Users: Download and install the Voyent Alert! app from the Apple or Google Play app stores.
- Email, Phone or SMS Users: Click here to register online to receive email, phone or text-based alerts
