Brockton is looking for resident input on the naming of a street.
It’s now called, “Proposed Road A,” and is in the East Ridge Business Park.
The road will be constructed at the northern part of the business park expansion and will lead to the Bruce Power Regional Soccer Fields as well as the proposed municipal complex to the west.
Current roads approved in the East Ridge Business Park are: Eastridge Road, Ontario Road, Zettler Road, and Kleist Street (part of next phase of expansion)
Brockton suggests a few things to keep in mind when coming up with road names:
Relevance to the Brockton Community
Uniqueness
If a road name is too similar to another road, or too unique, it may cause confusion
Length of Name
Single word road names are preferred for simplicity
Location of the Road
The Municipality says it reserves the right to post, or not post, name recommendations for comments.
The first phase of the business park expansion, which includes the construction of half of “Proposed Road A” has begun.
The second phase, finishing the construction of Eastridge Road, is expected to start this summer.
You can submit your entry at buildyourbrockton.ca
The recommendation and voting period ends May 4th.
