South Bruce OPP have published the results of their Operation Impact Campaign.
They say between October 8th and the 11th, all available South Bruce OPP officers participated.
Operation Impact is a Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police led traffic safety campaign that targets aggressive, distracted and alcohol/drug-impaired driving as well as seat belt non-compliance.
South Bruce OPP members charged 43 drivers during the traffic safety initiative.
34 speeding tickets issued
1 stunt driving charge
6 other moving violations
2 impaired drivers were charged
South Bruce OPP say their officers attended nine motor vehicle collisions during the holiday weekend. One crash resulted in non-life-threatening injuries and the other eight were classified as property damage only.
OPP say, “The traffic safety campaign has ended, but the members of the South Bruce OPP will continue patrolling area roadways to deter risky driving choices that put the safety of others at risk.”
