Rowing
Caileigh Filmer and Hillary Janssens from British Columbia took bronze in the women’s pair with a time of 6 minutes 52.10 seconds.
Filmer and Janssens are the first Canadians to medal in the event since Marnie McBean and Kathleen Heddle won gold at the 1992 Games in Barcelona.
Men’s Golf
Sepp Straka from Austria shot an 8 under par 63 for the lead after Round 1
Corey Conners from Listowel & Mackenzie Hughes from Dundas both shot 2 under par 69s in the opening round.
On the back 9 Conners had 7 all pars plus birdies on the 13th and on the final hole after he rolled in an 18-foot putt.
Conners missed 5 greens in regulation but managed to get up and down for par each time.
