The Kiwanis Club of Huntsville Muskoka invites you to donate what you can to this year’s Christmas in July fundraiser for the Huntsville Salvation Army Food Bank.
Rick Brooks, the Club’s Secretary-Treasurer says this Wednesday & Thursday, club members will be at the Huntsville Metro, Freshco, and Independent Grocers sharing flyers of most needed items which will also be highlighted on shelves inside the stores.
Brooks says Club members will be in the parking lots outside to accept your donations of food, gift cards, or cash.
“All dollars generated – food of course & gift cards – everything goes towards the Salvation Army Foodbank,” says Brooks. “So it’s for them directly – there are things that they can purchase in bulk with the dollars that come in that maybe we don’t normally get from a food drive or there are special deals that they can arrange – again, with cash they can do that.”
Brooks says the goal this year is to raise over 20,000 lbs of food.
He says the Covid-19 pandemic has enabled people to rally together to achieve things they didn’t know was possible and with annual events like these, the club is always pleased with the immense support shown for the Salvation Army Food Bank.
