The Town of Bracebridge is wishing Natalia Hawthorn good luck in Tokyo!
Today Bracebridge Mayor Graydon Smith and Deputy Mayor Rick Maloney met with Olympian Natalia Hawthorn to wish her well as she heads to Tokyo to compete in the 2020 Olympic Games.
“On behalf of Council, and the residents of Bracebridge, I wish Natalia all the best as she travels to Tokyo,” said Mayor Smith. “The entire community is so proud of you, Natalia!”
“Thank you to everybody in the Bracebridge community for your kind messages of support and excitement as I prepare for Tokyo,” said Natalia Hawthorn. “With no fans in the stands this year, the cheers from afar are more meaningful than ever. I’m proud of my Bracebridge roots and look forward to celebrating and reconnecting with many of you this fall!”
“I am extremely proud of Natalia’s accomplishments, her representation of Parry Sound – Muskoka, Ontario and Canada,” said MP Scott Aitchison. “Natalia has been inspirational as she continues to act as an ambassador and role model for young women and youth around the world.”
“On behalf of everyone in Parry Sound-Muskoka I want to wish Natalia good luck at the Olympics in Tokyo,” said MPP Norman Miller. “It takes a huge amount of work to earn the opportunity to represent Canada. I know everyone is proud of Natalia and we will all be cheering for her.”
The Bracebridge runner’s first heat of the 1500m is on August 1 at 8 p.m. (ET).
