Bruce County has a new Director of Long Term Care and Senior Services.
According to a news release, Megan Garland was named part of the county’s senior leadership team, effective this past April 29th.
Garland will oversee Gateway Haven Wiarton and Brucelea Haven in Walkerton.
You may recall there was an issue at Brucelea that affected staff and residents to the point where the province stepped in and halted admissions until the issues were cleared up.
Now, Bruce County’s Long Term Care Homes remain in full compliance with the Long Term Care Homes Act and all associated regulations.
Garland has been with Bruce County since December 2020 as the administrator at Gateway Haven in Wiarton.
She will also work with community partners and Bruce County departments, exploring the county’s role and engagement needs in the broader senior services of the Bruce and
Grey communities.
County councillor and Brockton mayor Chris Peabody, Chair of the Long Term Care Homes Committee of Management says both LTC homes will continue to ensure a robust pandemic response, an Essential Caregiver Program, and virtual visiting opportunities.
