Two men face drug trafficking and other charges in Bracebridge
Today at 2:20 am Bracebridge OPP responded after a vehicle that was stopped at an intersection near Balls Drive for an extended period of time caused a caller to become concerned. Officers soon found the vehicle in a nearby parking lot, but it then sped away.
They stopped it on Manitoba Street and arrested and charged the driver, a 35-year-old man from Bracebridge, with impaired driving by drug and two counts of posession of an opioid for the purpose of trafficking.
He’s set to appear in Bracebridge Court July 13th to answer to his charges. His driver’s license was also suspended and the vehicle was impounded.
The vehicle’s passenger, a 36-year-old man also from Bracebridge, was charged with two counts of possession of an opioid for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and failure to comply with a release order.
He’s been held for a bail hearing in Bracebridge set for today.
