Time to lace ’em up as the Tiverton ice pad is going to stay in until May 31st.
Parks and Recreation Director Karen Kieffer says in order to make the idea financially viable they would need to book 106 hours of ice time per month.
Kieffer says so far they’ve booked 144-hours each month and they’re expecting more requests.
Some have asked about the Davidson Centre but the ice there needs to come out by March 31st to accommodate the arena refrligeration project which needs to be done by June 1st to meet the Trillium Grant deadline.
Kieffer told Kincardine councillors on March 8th, the only option was to leave the Tiverton ice in.
Council has agreed to the request.
