The final household hazardous waste collection events of 2020 take place in Grey and Bruce counties today.
In Grey County, the Public Works Facility on 20th Street East is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to drop off old paint cans, propane tanks or other household hazardous waste. The service is open to residents of Owen Sound, Chatsworth, Georgian Bluffs, Grey Highlands, Meaford and West Grey.
Bruce County residents can visit the Southampton Works Yard (429 Peel Street) between 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Certain items are not accepted at either household hazardous waste collection event, such as commercial and industrial waste, or explosives.
Last year, nearly 70 tonnes of household hazardous waste were collected by the City of Owen Sound.
