Two dogs have been euthanized after they attacked a child and her mother in Haliburton April 12th.
Just before 4 pm that day Haliburton Highlands OPP investigated a serious dog bite complaint on Gainforth Road in Dysart et al Township.
A six-year-old and her mom were walking near their home when they were attacked by the two Saint Bernards.
The bites were so extensive the youngster was flown to a Toronto area trauma centre with critical injuries.
The mother’s injuries were non-life threatening and she has been released from hospital.
The child is still recovering from her injuries.
OPP say both dogs have been euthanized at the request of the owners.
The investigation into the incident has now been concluded.
