Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire. "
Back from Nashville & Memphis, I see there's lots of hockey on the horizon.
Just ahead this weekend, the Attack have a curious 3 in 3 sked when they go to Oshawa Friday night, come home to host division rival London on Saturday night and then wheel right around an head to Hamilton for a Sunday afternoon game.
I know you're expecting me to comment on the OHL schedule.....but I won't
Instead, let's look at some other hockey avenues.
From the Attack, defenceman Nolan Seed, and reluctant 2nd rounder Josh Barnes, will be at the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge in New Brunswick later this week.
Also, Owen Sound Minor Hockey grad Mark O'Leary is slotted to be a coach for Canada Red at the event.
Elsewhere in International Hockey, Canada will compete at the 4 Nations Cup Women's tournament in Saskatoon.
Shea Tiley from Shallow Lake is one of 3 goaltenders on the Canadian roster
Canada will play a pre-tournament game on Sunday against Finland in Prince Albert before preliminary-round play begins Tuesday
Finally, a neat campaign by the Firefighter Attack Minor Bantams concludes this weekend as part of the Silver Stick Tournament.
The Minor Bantam Attack have been collecting food donations for the Food Bank and everything will be weighed on Saturday as part of the tournament activities.
It's nice to be back to hockey and all these hockey activities.
