" Hi this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".
Tonight is Aidan Dudas Bobblehead Night as the Owen Sound Attack host the Hamilton Bulldogs in Ontario Hockey League action at the Harry Lumely-Bayshore Community Centre.
The Bulldogs are the defending Ontario Hockey League Champions and while the nature of OHL Hockey generally sees the champion take a step back, sometimes a significant step back, the year after winning, the Bulldogs are still formidable.
I watched Hamilton play twice last weekend; home to Mississauga on Saturday afternoon and then at Oshawa on Sunday night.
Their top 6 forwards are very good and the power play, while somewhat predictable, has the ability to work the puck to Arthur Kaliyev almost every time at the right wing dot for a blast.
On the blueline, Hamilton isn't overloaded with experience after graduating so many defenders last year, but the ice time for Kade Landry and Nicolas Mattinen is sky high and they've been effective as the Bulldogs sit 3 games over .500 and just 3 points back of Peterborough & Ottawa for the division lead heading into tonight's game.
The good news for the Attack starts with home ice.
Owen Sound is 4 & 5 on the year with all 4 wins coming on home ice including a hang-on-for-dear-life 4-3 win over division rival London on Saturday.
The Attack have been in and out, up & down, somewhat like the bobblehead they'll be distributing tonight.
The performance and results aren't shockers to the brass who recognized quite some time ago that this season could have, and would have, transitional moments
So tonight, it's the Bulldogs, doing better than most expected, against the Attack who you don't always know what to expect
Game time is 7 pm, but be there early for the Aidan Dudas Bobblehead.
