Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".
In a Summer that's been remarkable for the stretch of warm, if not beyond warm, weather, Sauble Speedway comes in with their first of 2 mid-week cards this season.
Tonight, Sauble Speedway presents the 3rd stop in the Great Lakes Concrete Series which is a NASCAR sanctioned tour that pits the best drivers from around the province in head to head matchups.
Drivers from as far away as Ottawa in the East & London in the West are expected to be among the 100 or so vehicles who will compete in the 4 divisions tonight.
The Great Lakes Concrete Series card tonight at Sauble features Super Stock, Late Model, Mini Stock and Junior Late Models
Mark Dilley is the Track Promoter at Sauble and while he's understandably enthused about everything on the program tonight, he makes a special point of illustrating how close the competition has been to this point in the Super Stock category.
Dilley relates an error by the driver or crew in the race tonight could penalize the entry up to 5 spots in the overall standings, sending them down to a level they may not be able to recover from.
The gates at Sauble Speedway open late this afternoon, with racing set to commence around 6 pm.
There will be some heat action around 7 pm and then the major events with Great Lakes Concrete Series points on the line should commence around 8 pm.
Have a great race night at Sauble Speedway.
I'm Fred Wallace
