The Road To Saugeen In September

By Fred Wallace

Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".

The 2018 Senior Ryder Cup in golf will progress through the Spring & Summer, elevating to a climax in September at Saugeen Golf Club in Port Elgin.

The burgeoning activity will feature 112 teams representing golf clubs around Southern Ontario & just beyond.

Among the more than 100 clubs with players competing are Saugeen, Legacy Ridge, Pike Lake, Black Horse & Shelburne from our broadcast region.

Each club is in a division with 3 other clubs and they'll play a series of head to head matches against each other.

The top 2 finishers in each of the 26 divisions will advance to the Semifinal stage that will be conducted in August.

Depending on geography, the top 2 divisional teams will compete in a semifinal event either at Dundas Valley, The Briars in Sutton, Tangle Creek at Thornton or at Highland in London.

The top 4 clubs from each of the 4 semifinals, making a total of 16 clubs, then will advance to the Championship event to be staged at Saugeen Golf Club commencing September 13th with practice followed by the Championship event on the 14th of September.

There's a lot of golf to be played in the Senior Ryder Cup, leading to mid-September at Saugeen.

I'm Fred Wallace
