Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire. "
Game 4 of the Ontario Hockey League Championship for the Robertson Cup goes tonight at the FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton.
The Bulldogs lead the Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds 2-1 going to this pivotal 4th game tonight.
Hamilton comes in with both the upper hand in the series and in terms of momentum after winning Game 3 at home which allowed them to maintain a semblance of home ice advantage.
But we've seen this before, have we not ?..... Attack fans ?
It seems to me, Owen Sound held a 2-1 series lead on the Greyhounds going to a midweek 4th game of that 2nd round series, only to see the Soo prevail at the Bayshore, convincingly, and eventually eliminate the Attack in 7 games.
I think that Kitchener, at various points in their series, also felt the Greyhounds were vulnerable.
And I'm not saying the Greyhounds haven't been exposed in these playoffs to a large extent by the Attack, the Rangers & the Bulldogs.
However, the Sault established a variety of franchise records this year and my belief is they have a lot more to showcase in almost every aspect of playoff hockey.
In Goal, on the blueline and especially among some of the marquee forwards, the best remains somewhat bottled up.
If the Greyhounds can open that bottle, I still think they'll take this series.
If they don't.....Hamilton could pull off one of the great Robertson Cup upsets.
