Some key players have been missing in the OHL Conference Finals. Hamilton and Sault Ste Marie have done a great job shutting down a top player, and it looks like they are on their way to the OHL Final.
Hi, I'm Zach Scribner with Off The Wire
The OHL Conference Finals are a prime example that having defence and a good goaltender are keys to winning a title.
First off in the East, where Hamilton is just dominating the series, as they are within one win away from their first OHL Finals appearance.
Entering the series, all eyes were on Gabriel Vilardi of the Kingston Frontenacs.
He was the hottest player in the playoffs, but the Bulldogs have shut him down.
Vilardi hasn't registered a single point in the 3 games, and with a 3-0 series lead it looks like Hamilton is on their way to the Finals.
In the West, Logan Brown is missing for the Kitchener Rangers.
They are down 2-0 in the series to Sault Ste Marie, and could be in a heap of trouble with a loss tonight.
If Kitchener is able to turnaround the series at home, Brown will have to step up.
He hasn't scored a point in the two games, and he was bailed out by his goaltender late in game 1 when he sent Boris Katchouk on a breakaway off a terrible giveaway.
This week will be interesting to see if it will be a Bulldogs Greyhounds Final, or if Kingston's and Kitchener's top players come to play and turn the series' around.
I'm Zach Scribner.
