Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off The Wire ".
Today is Valentine's Day, reportedly the most romantic day of the calendar- I get that.
But let's be honest; does anyone ever " get " ( or understand ) romance ?
Oh sure, we've all known some experts in the field and then stood by as the expert got pied by Cupid's evil other side.
Fittingly tonight, we have an Ontario Hockey League game in Owen Sound between the Attack and the team beloved by all; the London Knights.
For more than a decade, the Knights have been the most desirable location, ask any agent.
Yet this year, London apparently folded the their Valentine's Cards and elected to look further down the line.
Remarkably after a massive dispatch, the Knights sit 4th in the Western Conference and if they beat the Attack tonight, that pretty much kisses any hope the Owen Sounders have of finishing in the top 4.
And the Attack, they're a puzzling study too.
They can beat Hamilton & Barrie & Kingston & Kitchener, all contenders, yet frustratingly have served up points like Valentine's treats to North Bay, Sudbury and again Sunday in a staggering collapse at Ottawa.
You gotta love it.
Happy Valentine's Day- see you tonight at 7.
I'm Fred Wallace
