Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".

Just like the snowfall yesterday, the items are pouring in.

First off, to those in Wiarton and area all the best for Ground Hog Day and the weekend ahead.

In Cobourg, the Ontario Curling Championships are in full swing.

Julie Tippin of Owen Sound is 2 & 2 and meets Heather Heggestad this afternoon.

And Codey Maus of Tara, he starts the day at .500 with 2 games on the docket

To hockey; the Knights of Meaford are at home to the Bradford Rattlers tonight, the first of their final 4 regular season games against either the Rattlers or the Bulls

Game time tonight is 7:30 at the Meaford & St Vincent Community Centre.

The Carruthers Division Junior Playoffs begins tonight with Stayner hosting Caledon and Alliston at Schomberg.

The heavy betting is that it will be the Siskins and Hornets in the league final in a few weeks.

Congratulations to Mount Forest Patriots Goalkeeper Mathieu Oullette.

Oullette was named as this year's MVP in the Pollock Division

The Pollock Division Playoffs commence tomorrow night with the Hanover Barons heading to Kincardine.

The WOAA Senior Hockey Playoffs begin tomorrow night.

Durham at Saugeen Shores and Lucknow at Shallow Lake among the matchups in the two tiers.

And finally a lacrosse note...

Owen Sound native Adam Jones plays for the Saskatchewan Rush.

Saturday, the Rush go against the Calgary Roughnecks, and Jones will start that game with 199 career National Lacrosse League goals

Oh, and the the Super Bowl is Sunday.
