The capturing of the Ontario Hockey League's Bobby Orr Trophy by the Barrie Colts is truly impressive.

The Colts won the OHL Eastern Conference Championship in 7 games over Belleville, on the road, overcoming overlapping suspensions, playing with a lineup far below 100 percent healthy and still managed to eliminate a veteran Belleville team.

I like the Colts, I like the ex-Attackers there, I like the coaching and management and I've met the owner once, and I'm happy for them.

But......................what comes next won't be pretty.....

See if you can spot the trend;

2002 Erie
2003 Kitchener
2004 Guelph
2005 London
2006 Peterborough ( a deserving champion, certainly, but they did beat a London team that was playing their 17 year old backup in goal; Steve Mason )

Then;

2007 Plymouth
2008 Kitchener
2009 & 2010 Windsor
2011 The Attack
& last year, London.

In life, in business and in sports, the trend is your friend.

And the trend of Western Conference based OHL Champions should continue from my perspective.

As impressive as they were in eliminating Belleville to get to the OHL Final, if Barrie wins this series, it will be truly staggering.

I'm Fred Wallace

Do you agree with the Supreme Court's decision that a doctor should be able to help someone end their life if the person is a competent adult who is terminally ill, suffering unbearably and repeatedly asks for assistance to die?
