We've got a lot to cram into this segment as summer is in full swing.
First of all, the annual Scenic City Cup Minor Soccer Tournament is set for Saturday & Sunday at various fields in the city, but primarily based at the Kiwanis Soccer Complex.
Amazingly, the Kiwanis Soccer Complex with 6 fields isn't big enough on its own to handle the more than 70 teams who are scheduled to compete, which is a testament to the popularity of this tournament.
Next year the demand for playing space be greater as Victoria Park will be torn up for the construction of the new Rec Center.
There will be no " next year " for the Owen Sound Greys unfortunately.
However, the heartbeat of the club will be staging their annual golf tournament Saturday at Stone Tree to pay down costs and begin a reorganization period for April 2010.
The Greys have been around for a century, I hope golfers, sports & hockey fans will support them Saturday at Stone Tree.

The defending Canadian Senior Champion van Dolder Home Team Woodsmen conclude their regular season Saturday night when they host Wellington.
And the Junior B Playoffs continue Saturday in Elora for the Owen Sound ProTeam NorthStars who are tied with Elora at 1 win apiece.
The NorthStars who are authoring a great underdog story, come home for game 4 in the best of 5 Sunday night at 7 pm at the J.D. McArthur Arena, where they've put together a remarkable record of 11 & 2 so far this season.
Big days in front of us in local sports.
