Did you catch the Monday Morning Local scoreboard on Bayshore Broadcasting ?
All 3 entries from the Owen Sound Selects Fastball program were in action at various tournaments in either Kitchener or Waterloo.
Both the van Dolder Home team Woodsmen & the ProTeam NorthStars won their lacrosse games at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore.
And both Owen Sound entries in the York Region Soccer League, the Division One City Strikers and the Premier Division Grey Motors United, won their matches.
I recognize that economic times are tough, but it struck me, that's an amazing amount of participation, essentially two or more major teams per sport from a relatively small city all competing at the same time.
The wheel of weekend games gets rolling tonight in Owen Sound in the York Region Soccer League and that game shapes up as a beauty.
Grey Motors United will host Orangeville in what amounts to a first place showdown.
The Owen Sound squad has a record of 3 wins and a tie and are coming off a shutout victory Sunday at Orillia.
Goalkeeper Adam Walton posted the shutout Sunday while strikers Richard Parsons & Kevin Garvie had the goals at Orillia giving them a combined total of 10 markers in the first four games of the season.
Game time tonight is 8:45 pm for Orangeville & Grey Motors United at the Kiwanis Soccer Complex.
