Cory and Jamie win the 2013 OAB Community Service Award Honourable Mention

Thirty Deeds

Mix 106.5's Morning Show team, Cory Laycock and Jamie Johnston, have won the Ontario Association of Broadcaster's 2013 Community Service Award (Small Market Radio) Honourable Mention for their "30 Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" campaign!

Bayshore Broadcasting President Ross Kentner and VP Sales Kevin Brown accepted the award at the annual OAB Fall Conference in Toronto on November 7th, 2013 from OAB President Doug Kirk (pictured below // photo courtesy Howard Christensen of Broadcast Dialogue).

OAB Award

In late summer 2012, Cory and Jamie put out the call to their listeners to suggest good deeds that the team could do throughout the community. Over the following weeks and months they picked at random from the submitted deeds some tasks that needed to be done in the listening area. The deeds ranged from buying random folks a coffee to cleaning up a stretch of highway to helping out at the local animal shelter, and everywhere in between!

All of the staff at Mix 106.5 and Bayshore Broadcasting are extremely proud of their award-winning Mix Morning Show!
