Last minute bargaining is continuing in an effort to avoid a strike by bus drivers in Grey Bruce.
Unifor representative Len Poirier says the negotiations have resulted in some progress, but he adds they still have several outstanding issues.
The Union has served notice that a walkout can begin at 12:01am this Thursday, March 1st.
It would affect drivers for First Student Owen Sound, which operates school bus routes in Tobermory, Lion's Head, Wiarton, Hepworth, Sauble Beach, Holland-Chatsworth and Meaford, as well as in Owen Sound.
It would also affect First Student Kincardine which runs buses in Port Elgin and Southampton, as well as Kincardine.
There are 160 bus drivers covered by the talks.
If a deal is not reached prior to the deadline of this Thursday morning, parents whose children rely on school bus transportation from First Student Owen Sound and First Student Kincardine will need to make other arrangements.
The bus drivers also work for Owen Sound Transit and the Bruce Power shuttle service.
Poirier says talks could continue right up to the deadline.
The negotiations do not impact bus drivers with Martin's School Transit, and Kunkel bus lines.
