In 2014, Morrison unseated 19-year Mayor Deb Shewfelt by 515 votes .

At this time, no other residents have come forward in the race for elected office in Goderich.

Morrison will have to wait more than nine weeks to file his nomination papers for this year's municipal vote.

The Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs will allow nomination papers to be submitted on May 1st, with a closing date of July 27th.

The municipal election will be held Monday, October 22nd.

Morrison says there are several projects he would like to see through to completion in a second term, but kept his statements short ahead of his submission of nomination papers in May.
