At least one elementary school child has died as a result of the influenza virus.
Officials with Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health say another child has died and they believe the virus may have been the cause.
They say the flu season isn't over and the respiratory infection could still strike at any time.
Officials went on to say they've seen the highest number of new cases this season in just the past week.
Public Health has extended its clinic hours this weekend, hoping those who aren't already protected against the virus will do so now.
Guelph hours for Friday will run from 1pm to 7pm while Fergus and Orangeville will be open from 2pm to 7pm on Friday.
All three locations will be open Saturday from 10pm to 2pm.
