Huron County Poised To Name Permanent CAO

Huron County | by Fadi Didi

Meighan Wark expected to be offered permanent CAO job, after serving on interim basis since July.

Huron County is poised to announce a permanent Chief Administrative Officer.

Meighan Wark was appointed interim CAO in July of 2017, after her predecessor Brenda Orchard vacated the role for a similar job in the Kingston area.

Wark's six month review fell in January, although elected officials discussed their thoughts behind closed doors, as is the case with most personnel talks.

In the agenda for the upcoming Wednesday council meeting, council will be asked to confirm Wark as the county's top unelected official.

During her stint as interim CAO, Wark maintained her position as County Librarian & Director of Cultural Services.

The future of the top Cultural Services role will likely be discussed at Wednesday's meeting of county councilors.
