Interim PC leader Vic Fedeli

Barely 36 hours after the resignation of Patrick Brown as party leader, the Progressive Conservatives have a new face to lead them into the provincial election.

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli is taking over the party's top job, following a three-hour meeting of the Tory caucus at Queen's Park Friday morning.

Fedeli pledges to stay the course as the campaign approaches, to take on what he calls a culture of corruption within the governing Liberal party.

He told reporters the Tories intend to fight what he describes as the destructive policies of Premier Kathleen Wynne.

Bruce Grey Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker says Fedeli is a stellar choice.

He says the Tories felt this was the way to go, if they want to remove Kathleen Wynne and the Liberals at Queens Park.

Former Tory leader Patrick Brown quit late Wednesday, following allegations of sexual assault levelled against him by two women from his hometown of Barrie.
