There was reaction from across the country to the news Simcoe-Grey's MP, Dr. Kellie Leitch is dropping out of politics after the next federal election. Much of the reaction was negative toward her.
People responding on twitter were especially harsh, one saying a "high IQ doesn't mean you're good at everything. And she is bad at 'Canada'."
The National Post called Leitch a failed values crusader. Chatelaine Magazine published a list of five reasons they're glad she's leaving politics. Macleans magazine said it was a day to wish Leitch well and "thank our lucky stars that her political career is ending with a whimper." Vice Canada said Leitch was 'very bad' at her job.
Today is the last day to buy a membership in the Conservative party if you want a vote in the nomination meeting to replace Leitch. The date of the event has not yet been made public.
