Since 2014, the Town of South Bruce Peninsula has been celebrating and acknowledging those in the community who contribute to the rich culture and heritage of its communities.
Nominations are now open for the 2018 South Bruce Peninsula Heritage Award.
According to Town Clerk & Legislative Services Manager, Angie Cathrae, the award itself honours those who have helped to enrich the Town's culture and heritage.
"It can include someone that has achieved a major milestone, if they've published some works, if they have special materials that have a heritage nature or if they've had some sort of an influence or impact on the community," says Cathrae.
Nominees could include individual persons, organizations, businesses or even religious affiliations.
Cathrae notes they really wanted to continue their recognition of those who do make these types of contributions to South Bruce Peninsula, a town rich in its culture and history.
"What the Heritage Award is, is it's to recognize achievements in our municipality with respect to people that have made a contribution to the heritage of our municipality," adds Cathrae.
As for the deadline, nominations must be received on or before February 8th, 2018 at 12pm (noon).
Nominations forms can be found either on the Town Website or at the Town Hall in Wiarton.
