The Ontario Energy Board will hold a public meeting in Walkerton tomorrow to hear from consumers about an application from Westario
Power to raise distribution rates.
The O-E-B says the proposed increase will result in typical residential customers paying about $2.78 more per month.
Customers in Clifford, Elmwood, Hanover, Harriston, Kincardine, Lucknow, Mildmay, Neustadt, Palmerston, Port Elgin, Ripley, Southampton, Teeswater, Walkerton and Wingham will be affected if the O-E-B signs off the the proposal.
The energy regulator encourages customers to attend the meeting Wednesday from 7--9 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion (505 Scott Street) in Walkerton.
The O-E-B says the meeting will provide the opportunity to learn more about Westario Power's costs and rate application, and the chance to provide feedback.
