Shelburne | by Jill Young

Dufferin-Caledon MPP Sylvia Jones has launched a petition to get an advanced green at 124 and 89.

Dufferin-Caledon MPP Sylvia Jones has launched a petition to get an advanced green light in Shelburne.

The Town of Shelburne has been trying to get the Ministry of Transportation to put an advanced green at the intersection of County Road 124 and Highway 89.

There have been roadblocks in the process, with the response being that an extensive traffic study needed to be done first.

Jones had recently written a letter asking the MTO to do a traffic study at the peak of summer, when the intersection sees the most traffic.

Now she's launched a petition, which you can sign on her website.

The petition states that an advanced green is necessary for safety reasons, it also states it is a major artery for travel between Collingwood and the GTA, and requests the MTO install an advanced green immediately.
