Preliminary Hearing For OPP Officers

Two OPP officers will be in court in Owen Sound in relation to charges in an ATV crash.

Two senior OPP officers will be in an Owen Sound court February 16th for the start of a preliminary hearing into charges stemming from an ATV crash at Cape Croker in 2011.

Former Bruce Peninsula OPP detachment commander Wayne Thompson, and Acting Staff-Sargent Kevin Muir with Grey county OPP face charges of break of trust and obstructing justice.

The collision left an off duty OPP officer with serious injuries.

Both Thompson and Muir have been suspended with pay as required under the Police Services Act.

Five days have been set aside for the preliminary hearing.
