Light The Way Campaign Tops $206K

Saugeen Shores | by Craig Power

The community really pulled through during the Annual Light The Way Campaign for local healthcare.

Some of the “Holiday Hug” cards returned with individual donations and posted in the Southampton Hospital.
Year after year, the needs of the Saugeen Memorial Hospital in Southampton change, and year after year the community of Saugeen Shores really pulls through.
The total for this year's Annual Light The Way Campaign is out - donations surpassing $200,000 dollars in support of the hospital.
The funds will be used to purchase various types of hospital equipment including beds, mattresses & stretchers, Information Technology for patient services, a Tonometer, a Vein Illuminator, air handlers and flooring among others.
The government does not provide funding for such capital equipment thus making the need for community donations ever more important.
The goal for this year's campaign had been set at $150,000 dollars.
The Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation not only support the Southampton Hospital, but contributes to the Owen Sound Regional Hospital as well.
