The New Year may be just what the doctor ordered for the Owen Sound Attack.
Aidan Brown scored twice as the Barrie Colts completed a sweep of a weekend home and home set with a 4-1 win over the Attack in Ontario Hockey League action on New Year's Eve at the Molson Centre in Barrie.
The Attack (14-15-1-5) dropped their sixth straight game, while Barrie (23-10-2-1) made it six wins in a row.
Joey Keane and Kyle Heitzner also scored for the Colts, which took a 3-0 lead in the second period before Nick Suzuki scored his 18th of the season for Owen Sound.
Heitzner scored early in the third period to make it 4-1.
Leo Lazarev made 48 saves in the win, while Olivier Lafreniere stopped 25 taking the loss.
Owen Sound outshot Barrie 49-29 while going 0 for 3 on the power play; The Colts also finished 0 for 3.
First game of 2018 for the Attack is Friday on the road against the Guelph Storm (18-14-1-3). The Storm have won all three prior meetings between the two clubs this season.
