Wolves Bite Winterhawks

The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks continue their woes in the loss column.

In WOAA Sr. Hockey at the Plex, the Hawks lost to the Ripley Wolves, 5-4.

Coach Jim Grieve says they are still plagued by the same problem they had last week and that's playing a 60-minute game.

The Hawks were flat for the 1st and 2nd periods before mounting a come-back effort in the 3rd, but it was too little, too late.

Grieve says a couple of leaders on the squad need to speak out to the team in the dressing room to get the problem turned around.

The schedule doesn't get any easier.

Next Friday, the Hawks are on the road taking on the undefeated Clinton Radars, who crushed the Shallow Lake Crushers, 10-4 in the only other Friday night game. (DEC 29)

The Radars have won 15 straight games, including one against the Hawks a couple of weeks ago.

The next home game for the Winterhawks is Friday, January 12th, when they host the Elora Rocks
