The Executive Director of the United Way of Bruce Grey, Francesca Dobbyn, has another job.
She has been appointed to the Independent Electricity System Operator's (IESO) Market Renewal Working Group.
It provides advice to the IESO as it works with stakeholders to renew the wholesale electricity market in Ontario.
Dobbyn will be representing the interests of the low volume, or residential consumer.
The IESO is making changes to the electricity market that will ensure it functions more efficiently and is prepared for the electricity sector of tomorrow.
Dobbyn is already giving some advice, as she attended her first meeting of the working group on December 21st.
She says it was a quick turn around, as it was only about 3 weeks ago she get a phone call about being appointed.
Dobbyn says the position involves meetings once every couple of months.
Market renewal is expected to result in an estimated net benefit of up to $5.2 billion over 10 years, the majority of which will be realized by consumers.
