The Owen Sound Attack are back in the win column.
Matthew Struthers scored the game-winner with six minutes remaining in regulation as the Attack held on to beat the Flint Firebirds 5-4 in Ontario Hockey League action at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre Saturday night. Owen Sound ended its six-game losing streak.
Jonah Gadjovich, Daylon Groulx, Aidan Dudas and Maksim Sushko also scored for the Attack, which led 4-1 after two periods before Flint stormed back to tie the game 4-4 midway through the third.
Jake Durham, C.J. Clarke, Jacob Collins and Maurizio Colella tallied for the Firebirds, which fell to 9-18-3-0 -- last in the Western Conference.
Mack Guzda made 21 saves in the win, while Garrett Forrest stopped 29 taking the loss.
Owen Sound outshot Flint 34-25 while going 2 for 2 on the power play; The Firebirds finished 1 for 2.
The Attack (14-11-1-3) now have 32 points and sit in sixth-place in the Western Conference, three points shy of Guelph, after shaking their six-game slide.
Next up for Owen Sound is a trip to Barrie to face the Central Division-leading Colts (17-9-2-1) Thursday.
