Orillia | by Ken Hashizume

A Christmas train float won over kids and adults.

A float featuring a Christmas train stood out at the Orillia Santa Claus Parade.

Organizers handed out their annual awards prior to the start of Monday's (27th) Special Orillia Council meeting.

The Best Float award went to KRS Crane Rentals.

Float Operator David Campbell says they began working on their float just after Halloween.

He says they worked throughout the night putting in 70 man hours to complete the float.

Campbell says Evan Devine is the one who came up with the design of the award-winning float.

He says Devine is the artistic one of the group and he is the one who comes up with the ideas.

Campbell says you can hear the response from the crowd when the float passes by

He says children are laughing and the adults are applauding and that is great to hear.
