The Vanastra Radar Dome has new owners.
The now-decommissioned radar has been purchased by local business owners Stephen, Jason, and Andrew Oud.
Huron East Economic Development Officer Jan Hawley says the building beneath the dome is a commercial space that will be redeveloped.
As for the radar itself, Hawley hopes to apply for heritage funding to revitalize the 50-plus year old landmark.
The village's radar dome was used in the mid-1900s because of its proximity to the Lake Huron bluffs in Goderich.
Training was done at the radar to assist Canadian and British forces in detecting attacks during overseas wars.
As for the timeline on revitalizing the radar dome, Hawley says budgeting will need to be examined first.
She tells us work on the property's exterior has already begun.
