Bruce County has come out with its first ever County wide Economic Development Report Card.
While some municipalities are making the grade, others still have a little work to do.
Brockton took the number 1 spot followed by Ripley, Kincardine, Port Elgin and Southampton, with Paisley coming in last.
Bruce County Economic Development Officer Susan Fournier says the Report Card ranks each community based on organization, business development, community development as well as marketing and promotion.
Fournier says this is the first year of the report card and as such the data collected will serve as bench mark for future years.
She says ranking the municipalities is not meant to be a competition but rather as an assessment tool to identify how each community is doing.
Fournier says the report card identifies successes as well as weaknesses and enables the County to determine if there are common gaps that need to be addressed.
Fournier says the report card includes ‘Key Performance Indicators’ to provide communities with goals to work towards.
She says this is an ongoing collaborative effort between municipalities and the County to work together to promote economic development and growth.
