Regional | by Kevin Bernard

Canadians will mark Remembrance Day at ceremonies across the country today.

It was on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, that World War 1 ended in 1918.

There are several communities in Grey Bruce holding Remembrance Day services today, including in Owen Sound and in Saugeen Shores.

For Owen Sound area residents, it means some of the downtown streets will be blocked off briefly for the parade that runs from the Metro store, along 2nd avenue east to 8th street and down to the Cenotaph on 1st avenue west.

The parade will begin about 10:30 and the Remembrance Day service is at 11 at the Cenotaph.

In Saugeen Shores, the parade forms up at the Port Elgin Legion at 10:30, and goes to the Cenotaph for a service and wreath laying ceremony that begins at 10:55 am.
