Halloween Safety Tips From OPP

Regional | by Fadi Didi

Bright-coloured costumes, travelling in groups among tips from provincial police this Halloween.

OPP have some tips, to keep wandering ghosts and ghouls safe during trick-or-treat time.

Police recommend dressing the kids in bright coloured, reflective costumes, and avoiding the use of masks that can block a child's eyes or vision.

It is also suggested trick-or-treaters cross the road at well-lit intersections, and collect candy with a group of friends, or an adult.

The onus is not entirely on children for Halloween safety.

Drivers are asked to exercise extra caution during treat-or-treat hours.

Parents and guardians are still reminded to inspect all candy before it's eaten by kids.
