Attack drop second straight

Erie Otters sweep weekend doubleheader

The Owen Sound Attack return home from Erie after suffering back-to-back losses for a first time this season.

Carson Edwardson scored the game-winner with just over seven minutes remaining as the Erie Otters beat the Attack 4-3 in Ontario Hockey League action Sunday evening at Erie Insurance Arena.

Owen Headrick and Ivan Lodnia also scored for Erie (5-6-0-1), which won its third straight game and swept the weekend doubleheader over the Attack (6-3-0-2) after a 6-4 win Saturday.

Matthew Struthers, Daylon Groulx and Maksim Sushko tallied for Owen Sound, which trailed 3-1 through two periods before tying the game 3-3 before the midway point of the third.

Owen Sound outshot Erie 34-30 while going 0 for 1 on the power play; Erie finished 0 for 6.

The Attack's next game is Friday on the road against the Kitchener Rangers (7-5-1-0). The two clubs have split their first two meetings this season.
