Gearing Up to Light The Way

Saugeen Shores | by Craig Power

The Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation Light The Way Campaign starts Nov. 12th, 2017.

Mike Mowbray (with wife Eleanor) named Honourary Chair of Light The Way Campaign.
The Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation is once again gearing for their Annual Light The Way Campaign.
The annual campaign helps to raise much needed funds toward new equipment for the Saugeen Memorial Hospital in Southampton.
This year, the Foundation has named a local businessman as the Honorary Chair for the Light The Way Campaign.
Mike Mowbray, owner of the Canadian Tire Store in Port Elgin has stepped up to the plate as this year's Honorary Chair of the Light The Way Campaign, with a goal of raising $150,000.
Just this past year, the Mowbray's (Mike and his wife Eleanor Mowbray) required use of the hospital in Southampton, something that hits close to home.
"That kind of helped them to realize just how important having a hospital close to home is and they decided that it would be a great idea to support the campaign this year," says Sally Kidson, Executive Director of the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.
The 2017-2018 Light The Way Campaign officially gets under way on Sunday, November 12th, 2017.
A Fairy Tale Ball Hospital fundraiser is also planned for that day at the Lakeshore Recreation Centre in Port Elgin.
