TVO Documentary in Final Stages

Bruce County | by Craig Power

Most of the filming has wrapped up and it's now on to the editing stage.

The much anticipated three part Historical Documentary entitled "The Bruce" has wrapped up filming.

Ross Lamont, spokesperson for the Bruce County Historical Society says one of the challenges in filming such an historical piece is making sure not to capture anything modern in the film.

He says they used a number of locations, including a few in Saugeen Shores and Bruce Peninsula.

"We've tried to shoot in various places around the county," says Lamont. "Finding the right spots has been a treat but for sure people will recognize some local locations."

With the bulk of the filming now complete, Lamont says it's on t the task of editing and putting the film together.

The documentary "The Bruce" is broken down into three segments or time periods highlighting Bruce County from its early First Nations fur trade beginnings to what the County has become today.

While no release date has been set, it is expected to be release sometime in 2018.
