Colts Outscore Otters
Svechnikov with 4 points for Barrie who remain unbeaten at home in regulation.
The Barrie Colts coming out on top in a high-scoring affair.
The Colts opened up with a 4-0 lead and hung on to beat the Erie Otters 7-5 on Thursday night at the Barrie Molson Centre.
Zach Magwood and Curtis Douglas scored first period goals to give the Colts a 2-0 first period lead.
Barrie would go up 4-0 on a pair of second period goals by Andrei Svechnikov (2 goals, 2 assists).
But the Otters would respond with three goals of their own (from Owen Hendrik, Stephane Patry, and Cade Robinson) before the end of the period and trailed the Colts 4-3.
Lucas Chiodo (1 goal, 2 assists) would get one back for the Colts just 9 second into the third period for a 5-3 lead.
Alexei Lipanov (1 goal, 2 assists) and Kyle Heitzner also scored for the Colts (6-2-0-1).
Leo Mazarev made 34 saves in the win while Anand Oberoi stopped 24 shots for the Otters (2-6-1-0).
Power play saw Barrie go 1-for-2, Erie finished 2-for-7.
The next game for the Colts is Saturday night when they host the North Bay Battalion.
