Better Effort But No Win for Terriers

Orillia | by Ken Hashizume

Schryer and Miller score for Orillia in 4-2 loss to Midland.

It was a better effort by the Subaru of Orillia Terriers.

However, it was not enough as the Midland Flyers doubled up the Terriers by a score of 4-2 Sunday afternoon.

Ben Schryer gave Orillia a 1-0 lead with his goal 6:06 into the first period.

The Flyers would answer with a pair of power play goals from Will Manatch and Tyson Gates and take a 2-1 lead.

Corey Miller would tie it up for the Terriers at the 15:38 mark of the second period.

But Zach Berriault's goal would restore the lead for Midland just 1:40 later.

Ben Malo would add an insurance goal in the third period.

Another tough loss for Derek Haourt as he made 21 saves for the Terriers (1-7-0-0) while Braden Butcher stopped 19 shots for the Flyers (4-4-0-0).

Orillia went 0-for-4 with the man advantage while Midland finished 2-for-8.

The Terriers hit the road for their next game, Thursday night in Schomberg to take on the Cougars.
