The unemployment rate in the area rose in September, while it fell in Ontario.
Figures released by the Four county Labour Market Planning board show the level went from 3.4 percent to 3.8 percent in the area from Tobermory through to Stratford.
In Ontario, 34,700 new jobs were added as the unemployment rate slid from 6.3 to 6 percent.
Across the Country, Stats Canada says unemployment held steady at 6.2 percent.
Locally, officials say there were 31 hundred full time jobs added, and 19 hundred part time jobs in September.
However, more people were looking for work so the percent of unemployment in Bruce, Grey, Huron and Perth counties did rise last month.
